Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy defines responsible and lawful use of SohoCloud VPS Hosting services. It helps protect customers, systems, networks and the availability of the services.

Purpose of This Policy

SohoCloud VPS Hosting is intended for lawful websites, applications, development environments, databases, business workloads and other legitimate server-based projects.

Customers must use their VPS in a way that respects applicable laws, third-party rights, network security and the operation of other users and infrastructure.

Legal and Lawful Use

Customers may not use SohoCloud services to conduct, promote, facilitate or support unlawful activities.

  • Fraudulent or deceptive activities.
  • Identity theft or unauthorized use of personal information.
  • Activities that violate applicable laws or regulations.
  • Content or services that infringe third-party rights.
  • Unauthorized financial or payment-related activity.

Network Abuse

Customers must not use VPS resources to intentionally disrupt, overload or interfere with networks, systems or services.

  • Denial-of-service or distributed denial-of-service attacks.
  • Port flooding, packet flooding or intentional network disruption.
  • Unauthorized scanning or probing of third-party systems.
  • Network interception without proper authorization.
  • Activities designed to bypass network or service restrictions.

Security and Unauthorized Access

VPS services may not be used to gain unauthorized access to computers, accounts, networks, applications or other systems.

  • Credential theft or password attacks.
  • Brute-force attacks against unauthorized systems.
  • Exploitation of security vulnerabilities without permission.
  • Malware, ransomware, spyware or destructive software.
  • Phishing pages or fraudulent authentication systems.
  • Distribution of tools intended to facilitate unauthorized access.

Spam and Message Abuse

SohoCloud VPS resources must not be used to distribute unsolicited bulk email, messages or promotional communications.

  • Unsolicited bulk email or messaging.
  • Email address harvesting for spam campaigns.
  • Phishing or deceptive email campaigns.
  • Forged or misleading message headers.
  • Mail activity that causes significant abuse reports.

Customers are responsible for maintaining appropriate security controls on systems used for email or messaging.

Copyright and Intellectual Property

Customers must respect copyrights, trademarks, patents, privacy rights and other intellectual property rights.

VPS resources must not be used to host, distribute or facilitate unauthorized copies of protected content or services that infringe third-party rights.

Harmful or Abusive Content

Customers must not use SohoCloud infrastructure for content or activities that create serious risks to people, systems, networks or public safety.

  • Threats or targeted harassment.
  • Content intended to facilitate serious unlawful harm.
  • Distribution of malicious software.
  • Fraudulent services or deceptive schemes.
  • Content or activities prohibited by applicable law.

Server and Resource Responsibility

Customers are responsible for software, applications, accounts, credentials, files and configurations running on their VPS.

Customers should maintain appropriate operating system updates, security controls, access restrictions and backups for their own workloads.

Activities that materially affect infrastructure stability, network security or other customers may be investigated and restricted.

Payment and Fraud Prevention

Customers must provide accurate order and account information and must use authorized payment methods when purchasing VPS services.

Transactions or service usage associated with suspected fraud, unauthorized payment activity or unlawful conduct may be reviewed or restricted in accordance with applicable requirements.

Payment services such as PayPal maintain their own acceptable use, risk and transaction requirements. Customers are responsible for complying with the applicable rules of the payment provider.

Investigations and Service Actions

Where there is a reasonable concern regarding abuse, security, fraud, unlawful activity or a serious violation of this policy, SohoCloud Store may review the relevant service information and take proportionate action.

Depending on the circumstances, actions may include requesting additional information, restricting affected resources, suspending access or terminating the affected service, subject to applicable law and the Terms of Service.

Third-Party Complaints

Abuse reports, security notifications, copyright complaints and other legitimate third-party reports may be reviewed when they relate to VPS resources or customer-managed services.

Customers may be asked to investigate and resolve the reported activity within a reasonable timeframe where appropriate.

Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for ensuring that their VPS usage, applications and content comply with this Acceptable Use Policy, the Terms of Service and applicable laws.

Customers are also responsible for activity performed through accounts or credentials under their control.

Policy Scope

This policy provides general rules for responsible use of SohoCloud VPS Hosting services. Specific product limitations, technical requirements and service conditions may also apply.

The policy should be read together with the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Refund Policy.
