Responsible VPS Usage

Every VPS customer is responsible for using their service lawfully, responsibly and in a way that does not compromise networks, systems, third parties or other customers.

01

Purpose of This Policy

This policy helps protect the reliability, security and responsible operation of SohoCloud VPS services. It applies to all VPS services, accounts, IP addresses, software, applications and resources provided through SohoCloud Store.

02

Prohibited Abuse

Customers must not use a VPS to conduct, facilitate or support unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or harmful activities.

  • Fraud, scams, identity theft or deceptive activity.
  • Unauthorized access to systems, accounts or networks.
  • DDoS attacks, network flooding or intentional disruption.
  • Malware, ransomware, spyware or credential theft.
  • Phishing, spoofing or malicious impersonation.
  • Unauthorized scanning, probing or exploitation.
  • Unsolicited bulk email, spam or email address harvesting.
  • Activities that infringe copyright, trademarks or other rights.
03

Network and Security Abuse

VPS resources must not be used to attack, disrupt, intercept or gain unauthorized access to third-party infrastructure. Customers are responsible for securing applications, credentials, software and services running on their VPS.

Security matters: Keep software updated, use strong credentials and remove unnecessary services or exposed ports from your VPS environment.
04

Spam and Email Abuse

VPS services must not be used for unsolicited bulk email, deceptive campaigns, email harvesting, forged headers or other forms of abusive messaging. Customers are responsible for ensuring that email activity from their VPS follows applicable laws and provider requirements.

05

Fraud and Payment Abuse

Customers must provide accurate order and account information and must not use SohoCloud services to facilitate payment fraud, stolen payment information, fraudulent transactions or deceptive commercial activity.

Payment providers may apply their own risk controls, restrictions and policies. Customers remain responsible for complying with applicable payment-service requirements.

06

Copyright and Intellectual Property

Customers must respect copyright, trademarks, patents, privacy rights and other intellectual-property rights. VPS resources must not be used to host, distribute or facilitate unlawful infringement.

Copyright-related complaints may be reviewed in accordance with the applicable law and SohoCloud policies.

07

Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for the websites, applications, files, databases, accounts, credentials and software operated through their VPS. Customers should maintain appropriate security controls and backups for their own data and workloads.

08

Abuse Reports and Investigation

SohoCloud may review credible reports involving suspected abuse, security incidents, fraud, prohibited activity or network disruption. Additional information may be requested when necessary to understand the reported activity.

09

Service Restrictions

Where reasonably necessary to protect customers, infrastructure, third parties or comply with applicable law, SohoCloud may restrict, suspend or terminate affected services in accordance with the Terms of Service and applicable legal requirements.

Actions may depend on the nature, severity and urgency of the reported activity.

10

False or Misleading Reports

Abuse reports should be submitted in good faith and contain sufficient information to identify the suspected activity. False, intentionally misleading or abusive reports may be disregarded and may be considered when evaluating future reports.

12

Policy Updates

SohoCloud Store may update this policy when necessary to reflect changes in services, security practices, legal requirements or operational standards. Customers should review the current version periodically.
